The Engineering Department is responsible for the design, installation, configuration and ongoing maintenance and availability of various hosted UC and voice solutions with associated infrastructure.
The Voice Engineer is responsible for configuring, supporting, and maintaining voice infrastructure and services throughout their lifecycle. The role focusses on our VoIP stack and interconnections with carriers, cloud services and customer devices.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy and configure SBCs, B2BUAs, Registrars and Gateways
- Analyse SIP Traces and flows to optimise and debug
- Provide escalated incident and problem management; Own complex issues; Provide timely updates to the wider teams.
- Test and quality assure new services to ensure they meet the service requirements and design specification
- Ensure configuration is documented and knowledge is transferred to support teams
- Monitor and react to key infrastructure alarms and metrics
- Carry out changes in line with process and customer and/or Sipcom requirements
- Work with engineers and architects to evaluate and create solutions for customer requirements.
Essential:
- In-depth knowledge of SIP and experienced in SIP troubleshooting.
- Building, deploying, supporting, and maintaining Session Border Controllers – preferably Oracle/Acme Packet.
- Experienced in incident and problem management under ITIL framework.
- Service transition and documentation.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Experience of Teams Direct Routing and/or Zoom Phone
- Scripting and automation skills; ability to identify areas for automation and develop solutions.
Desirable:
- Professional vendor level certifications.
