Head of Impact and Engagement, Coalitions. (Remote)

Recruit 121 (Finance, Technology, and Executive) is excited to be partnering with the Centre for Finance, Innovation and Technology (CFIT) in recruiting the unique opportunity of a Head of Impact and Engagement, Coalitions.

A CFIT coalition is a dynamic, purpose-driven and strategic convening point for the most pertinent stakeholders in financial services, including, big tech providers, trade associations, major retail and challenger banks, fintech firms, regulators, and academics. It’s coalitions facilitate the collaboration of experts committed to driving tangible, industry-led change in the financial technology sector and brings together the brightest minds and thought leaders from across financial services and adjacent sectors, to undertake research that can identify real challenges and solutions for consumers and businesses in the UK. The coalitions operate on a time-limited basis, harnessing the expertise and diverse perspectives of our members to explore and address key issues facing the fintech and wider financial services industry.

The successful candidate will be a highly skilled and dynamic individual with fintech experience and background. This hands-on position requires a blend of strategic, organisational, and practitioner expertise. You will work collaboratively with key stakeholder groups, driving activities and achieving impact aligned with CFIT’s vision and coalition objectives. Your primary goal will be to shape, lead, manage, and develop coalitions to enhance CFIT’s profile, impact, and revenue through high-quality, cost-effective, and resilient engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Coalition Onboarding and Community Development:

Onboard coalition partners and working group members to effectively drive coalition outcomes.

Champion a customer-centric approach, ensuring excellence in program delivery and taking personal responsibility for navigating complexity through negotiation and agile principles.

Develop coalition delivery progress reports for the Director of Coalitions & Research and governance meetings.

Community Engagement and Stakeholder Management:

Foster strong relationships with industry partners, regulators, government agencies, and industry influencers, leveraging these connections to drive coalition success.

Manage governance and coalition partner expectations, identify key risks, and implement effective mitigations. Prepare engaging communications for full CFIT initiative engagement.

Coalition Delivery and Measuring Impact:

Support the Head of Programs and Policy in delivering success in project kick-off meetings, tactical meetings, project wrap-up meetings, and check-ins.

Devise key impact statements and goals for each of CFIT’s coalitions. Design and drive a series of proof-of-concept activities to demonstrate intended impact.

Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the impact and outcomes of coalition initiatives.

Identify opportunities for resource optimisation and innovative solutions to maximise impact while maintaining cost-effectiveness.

Continuous Improvement:

Regularly assess the effectiveness of coalition strategies and processes, proposing refinements to the Director of Coalitions and Research as needed.

Key Capabilities:

The successful candidate will adeptly manage our community of coalition partners and oversee the partial delivery of coalition outputs, ensuring adherence to agreed-upon resources, timelines, and budgets for high-quality outcomes. This role requires a blend of interpersonal communication skills, multi-stakeholder program management, and transformation experience in financial services.

Key Attributes and Skills:

Program Management: Expertise in coordinating cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality outputs on time and within budget. Proficiency in Planner, Sheets, agile, lean, Kanban, and Scrum methodologies.

Industry: Hands-on experience in financial services and innovation. Proficient in managing cross-functional agile and lean teams.

Stakeholder Management: Ability to unite coalition partners across the UK, including industry, academia, regulators, and government, ensuring focus on core objectives and securing buy-in.

Product Delivery: Practical experience in delivering financial innovation products iteratively, managing sprints, backlogs, and the complete development and testing lifecycle.

Mindset: Analytical, proactive, action-oriented, data-driven, self-starter, and adept problem solver.

Communication: Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
